The Heart of Listening for Leaders
(2-Part Series)
Listening is an essential part of our everyday life, the foundation of all effective communication, and is an indispensable skill as a leader. Yet, rarely are we taught how to listen...to truly listen. This series includes 2, two-hour sessions to invite you to learn, explore, and practice the fundamental skill at the heart of all personal and professional relationships.
Together we will create a safe and fun learning environment to expand our skills, with each section covering:
Information to expand our understanding of a fundamental aspect or skill of listening
A demonstration of this skill
A short practice in pairs
Group debrief, discussion, and questions

Resilient Leadership (Series)
Our current times require workplaces and teams to be adaptive, collaborative, and willing to ‘do things differently’. Many factors are needed to build this foundation, including: psychological safety, supportive and clear communication, and enhanced connection and relationship. During this 3-session series for leaders, we will explore this type of organizational transformation by understanding the physiological nature of the brain/body, and applying the current research in areas such as resilience and compassion. Our current times are requiring leaders to lead in new and different ways; these workshops are meant to provide a supportive environment to explore possible areas for growth.
Session 1 Resilient Teams: Setting the stage
This session will provide a foundation for understanding the bigger picture of resilience, including both the current demands/challenges we face, as well as the support and strengths our teams already possess.
Session 2 Resilience and Relationship: We are built to connect
With the foundation of neurobiology from Session #1, this session will juxtapose this with the neuroscience behind connection and compassion. Leaders will be given a chance to learn about the benefits of compassionate leadership, and how this can help create an environment of psychological safety - especially important in times of uncertainty and change.
Session 3 Resilient Leadership: Self-Awareness
Our current world requires leadership that understands emotions, uses empathy, and can be informed from a place of wisdom. During this session we will explore the practices of self-compassion and emotional awareness as a vehicle to greater personal well-being and more effective supportive leadership.

Burnout: Leader Awareness and Action
With the ever-increasing trend of burnout in companies and post-secondary institutions, the role of the leader in both prevention and support is an important conversation to be had. The beginning of this session will focus on understanding burnout; the latter part will incorporate small and large group discussion on risk and protective factors, case studies, and the leader skill-set required to start the needed conversations to address burnout in the workplace.
During this 2 hour session, we will explore:
What is burnout, common signs and symptoms, and what is the impact on the workplace.
Group discussion of both risk factors and protective factors in your workplace. We will also explore why community may be an important factor.
What specific and tangible skills are essential for leaders to encourage discussion, education, and supportive conversations on this topic.

Creating a Healthy Workplace Culture: A Spotlight on Psychological Safety
To effectively lead self and others, strategic leaders must help create a culture that effectively engages employees and promotes a healthy workplace. In this session, leaders explore employee engagement trends and learn techniques to create a psychological safe work culture that promotes belonging and well-being. This session focuses on empowering and engaging employees, building healthy teams and the importance of well-being and its impact on the overall success of the organization.
